What is it?

It is a local monthly ministry outreach at area apartment complexes, churches, and community centers for the purpose of evangelizing children.

Who is involved?

Anyone, adult or teen, who has a burden to reach children with the Gospel and is able to give 4 hours on Saturday each month to the Lord for this outreach ministry.

You supply a willing heart----we supply the training.

How is it done?

Churches adopt a particular community, supplying workers, along with CEF workers, prayer, refreshments, etc.

Blitzes are held in the community room of the apartment complex or at the church, etc.

Flyers are handed out by volunteer workers a few days prior to the Blitz inviting children to come.

The day of the Blitz, teams meet at their Blitz location and go out into the neighborhood to distribute more invitations inviting children to attend.

The program is approximately two hours long.  Special activities are planned, such as: Bible lessons, singing, puppets, face painting, clowns, etc.  The program includes object lessons, fun Bible games and other special features, all focused on the Gospel.

A packet of goodies are given to each child to take home which always includes a Gospel tract.

An invitation to receive Christ is given at the conclusion of every Blitz.  Counseling is provided for the children who respond.

You are needed in the following areas:

Teachers and song leaders.

Passing out invitation flyers.

Sit with children during the program.

Counseling children who respond to the invitation for salvation.

Distributing handouts & refreshments at the close of the program.

For churches, providing a church home for follow up.

"I have been coordinating Good News Blitz.  First meeting was in May with an attendance of 53 children and 12 workers.  June and July blitz had good attendance averaging 40 children.  The Good News Blitz one day camp at Camp Jabez was very successful.  It was held on July 24th.

If you have questions about the Blitz contact -- Pat Daniels, Urban Ministries Coordinator at 937-274-9781

When asked why he responded to the invitation at a Good News Blitz, 11 year old David replied, "I'm just like the boy in the story with guilt, fear, anger and shame, and I want to be different."  The story taught was "Totally Randall".
