Christian Youth in Action® (CYIA™) is a program for young people from all over the Miami Valley to prepare them to be summer missionaries. Every summer, usually in June, teens age 13 thru college age and adults gather for several days of intensive study in preparation for teaching 5-Day Clubs in their own neighborhoods. During class time they will be taught how to lead a child to Christ, give the invitation and how to effectively counsel the child. They will learn how to use the Wordless Book, teach a Bible lesson, and how to include the gospel in every lesson. Also they will be instructed on methods of teaching a memory verse and using repetition games. Other instruction includes prayer, music, missionary stories and discipline.
When the students return home, they are equipped to teach 5-Day Clubs, either sponsored through their church or through Child Evangelism Fellowship of the Miami Valley. The students also may have an opportunity to work in the Fair Ministry and other special events during the summer.
